Terms and Conditions
Liquid crystal screen (LCD) is a commonly used yet continuously evolving technology being used in many types of applications. The latest in LCD technology being used in notebook computers have particular standards associated with them established by the LCD manufacturers and notebook makers. These industry standards are designed to maintain quality and affordability. For more information on LCD screen standards, please refer to the Industry Standards webpage which also includes information regarding dead pixels for more details.
1.0 Standard Warranty
1.1 Standard Warranty - LCDs4Less.co.uk (together with its parent company, the "Company" or "LCDs4Less.co.uk") offers full warranty coverage on all notebook screens purchased for a period of up to thirty (90) days from the date of purchase of the corresponding notebook screen (the "Standard Warranty Period") against manufacturer defects for all new and newly refurbished notebook screens purchased from LCDs4Less.co.uk (the "Standard Warranty").
1.2 Defects Covered Under the Standard Warranty - Defects covered under the Standard Warranty include electronic deficiencies, cosmetic deficiencies and notebook screens that are dead-on-arrival ("DOA"). Electronic deficiencies are covered under the Standard Warranty for a period of thirty (90) days from the date of purchase of the corresponding screen and include Lines, Dead Pixels, Video Failure and Premature Backlight Outage that are manufacturer defects of the screen and not caused by Accidental Damage or caused by a defect of another computer component (collectively, "Electronic Defects" and individually defined in Section 11 Definitions at the end of the Terms & Conditions). Cosmetic Defects and DOA are covered for seven (7) calendar days from the date of purchase of the respective screen (the "Cosmetic Defect Period") and does not cover physical damage or defects as an effect of Buyer mishandling. Should the screen be DOA or have a Cosmetic Defect, the Buyer must notify the Company by requesting a return merchandise authorization ("RMA") number within seven (7) calendar days of the date of purchase.
1.3 Standard Warranty Expiration - The Standard Warranty expires on the thirty first (31st) day from the date of purchase of the respective notebook screen.
2.0 Screen Damage Protection Plan
2.1 Screen Damage Protection Plan - LCDs4Less.co.uk offers an optional Screen Damage Protection Plan for a period of either one year or two years from the date of purchase of a notebook screen should the Buyer choose such coverage and upon payment of a fee (the "Screen Damage Protection Plan Fee").
2.2 Defects and Damage Covered Under the Screen Damage Protection Plan - The Screen Damage Protection Plan covers damage to the respective notebook screen as a result of Accidental Damage including cracks, in addition to all manufacturer deficiencies covered by the Standard Warranty. The Screen Damage Protection Plan is restricted to two (2) occurrences per year.
The Screen Damage Protection Plan is not available for notebook screens offered at discounted prices due to imperfections.
2.3 Screen Damage Protection Plan Fee - The Screen Damage Protection Plan Fee for one (1) year coverage is £30. The Screen Damage Protection Plan is only offered at the time of purchase of the corresponding notebook screen.
The Screen Damage Protection Plan Fee for two (2) year coverage is £37.5.
The Screen Damage Protection Plan Fee for wholesale clients is restricted to those that qualify as a wholesale client.
2.4 Screen Damage Protection Plan Expiration - The Screen Damage Protection Plan expires on the one (1) year anniversary of the date of purchase of the corresponding notebook screen should the Buyer choose to purchase the one (1) year Screen Damage Protection Plan and terminates on the two (2) year anniversary of the date of purchase of the corresponding notebook screen should the Buyer choose to purchase the two (2) year Screen Damage Protection Plan.
3.0 Filing a Claim Against the Standard Warranty and Screen Damage Protection Plan
3.1 Filing a Claim - To initiate a claim against the Standard Warranty or Screen Damage Protection Plan, the Buyer must request an RMA number via the RMA electronic submission form on the LCDs4Less.co.uk website by clicking on the Customer Support link within the Buyer’s respective coverage period. The RMA process can not begin until the Buyer fills out and submits the RMA electronic submission form. The Buyer must receive an RMA number before the Buyer may return any merchandise to LCDs4Less.co.uk.
Upon receipt of RMA number, the RMA number must be written on the outside of the box when shipping back to LCDs4Less.co.uk. For the Screen Damage Protection Plan, the Buyer must send to the Company the notebook with the screen still installed that was originally purchased from the Company. Should the returned merchandise be sent before issuance of RMA number or RMA number not be provided in written form with returned item(s), the returned item(s) will not be accepted as merchandise covered by the Standard Warranty or the Screen Damage Protection Plan. The returned merchandise must be post marked within seven (7) calendar days of receipt of RMA number or the returned merchandise will not be accepted and the RMA request will be cancelled.
Should an Electronic Defect, Cosmetic Defect or other occurrence be determined by the Company to fall under the Buyer’s corresponding Standard Warranty or Screen Damage Protection Plan, the Company in its sole discretion may repair the notebook screen , exchange the notebook screen with an identical or compatible item or refund the Buyer the original purchase price of the notebook screen (less the respective Screen Damage Protection Plan Fee). If merchandise is exchanged for the returned merchandise, the item exchanged is covered by the Standard Warranty or Screen Damage Protection Plan until the initial expiration.
If the item(s) returned by Buyer are not covered by the Buyer’s respective warranty, Screen Damage Protection Plan or prove to be in approved working order as verified by an authorized LCDs4Less.co.uk technician, the Buyer must (i) pay shipping charges associated with faulty claim and (ii) will have the option of either being subject to a twenty five percent (25%) restocking fee or have merchandise returned to Buyer at Buyer's expense.
3.2 Protective Film Cover - All screens come with a plastic protective film on the screen to protect it from scratching during the installation process. Do not remove this protective film until the screen has been installed and you have confirmed that the screen is working properly. Customers may be subject to a £12.5 repolarization fee for any screen(s) returned to LCDs4Less.co.uk with scratch(es), regardless if the screen appears to be fuctioning properly or not.
3.3 Wrong Screen Received - If the Buyer receives a screen different from the screen which the Buyer ordered, the Buyer has seven (7) days from the date of receipt to request an RMA number. The Buyer must return the screen in original condition. Scratches on screen surface may result in a fee of £12.5.
3.4 Return of Non-Defective Merchandise - If the Buyer receives merchandise that the Buyer ordered and would like to return the merchandise which do not meet criteria under the Standard Warranty or Screen Damage Protection Plan for defects the Buyer must request an RMA number within the Standard Warranty Period. The Buyer must receive an RMA number and will be subject to a twenty five (25%) percent restocking fee. Returns of non-defective merchandise beyond the Standard Warranty Period will not be accepted.
Return of items due to wrong screen ordered must include the protective film still affixed to the notebook screen.
3.5 As-is Merchandise - As-is merchandise is covered by the Standard Warranty excluding imperfections that have been described to the customer. A description of the As-is item denoting any imperfections will be provided on the invoice.
3.6 Serial Numbers - The Standard Warranty or Screen Damage Protection Plan is void if the original serial number(s) do not match those of the merchandise originally shipped or if the serial number(s) are removed.
3.7 Return Shipping of Merchandise - All returned products that are covered under warranty must be shipped on Company's shipping account and will be paid by the Buyer. If the warranty claims of the Buyer are covered by the Buyer's respective warranty as verified by an LCDs4Less.co.uk employee after testing of the product by an LCDs4Less.co.uk employee, then the Buyer will be reimbursed for the return shipping paid by the Buyer.
3.8 Warranty Approval - The Company’s judgment will be final in all decisions related to the Standard Warranty or the Screen Damage Protection Plan.
4.0 Title and Risk of Loss
4.1 Title and Risk of Loss - Risk of Loss remains with the Company until the Title Transition Point. The Title Transition Point is defined as the point in time in which title of possession shifts from the Company to the Buyer. Should the Buyer choose to ship purchased merchandise on the Company’s account, the Title Transition Point is the point in time at which the Buyer signs for delivery of the merchandise. Should the Buyer choose to ship purchased merchandise on the Buyer’s account, the Title Transition Point is the point in time at which the merchandise are taken into possession by the delivery company (the "Carrier") and as verified by electronic means or written documentation by the Carrier.
4.2 Damage or Missing Shipment - In the occurrence of a missing or damaged shipment prior to the Title Transition Point, the Buyer will notify the Company and the Company will replace or refund the original purchase. If the shipment is damaged prior to the Title Transition Point, the Buyer must return the packaging that the damaged item was sent in. In the occurrence of a missing or damaged shipment after the Title Transition Point, the Buyer will assume full responsibility of filing a claim with the Carrier and release the Company from liability.
5.0 Prices
5.1 Price Availability - Wholesale prices quoted by an LCDs4Less.co.uk sales representative are prices for computer parts resellers and computer repair shops. All computer parts resellers and computer repair shops must supply a copy of their tax identification certificate which states computer parts business activity in order to receive the wholesale price posted on the LCDs4Less.co.uk website. Entities or persons which do not supply such documentation or supply such documentation but not to the satisfaction of the Company will be subject to retail prices. All prices listed in LCDs4Less.co.uk exclude VAT.
5.2 Customary and Premium Screen Prices - LCDs4Less.co.uk offers two types of notebook screen purchases. A standard notebook screen purchase, "Customary Screen", permits up to 2 dead pixels and is replaced if it has 3 or more during the warranty period. A premium notebook screen purchase, "Premium Screen", is shipped with 0 dead pixels, permits up to 2 dead pixels and is replaced if it has 3 or more during the warranty period.

5.3 Expiration of Price Quotes - Should the Buyer request a price quote on a particular item(s), the price quoted by an LCDs4Less.co.uk sales associate will remain valid for 48 hours. Any reconfirmation of a price quote or purchase of an item directly related to a price quote received from an LCDs4Less.co.uk sales associate beyond the 48 hour period will be subject to prices then in effect.
5.4 Price Discrepancies - Any price discrepancies between any items on the Company's websites will default to the price of the exact part number being purchased.
6.0 Shipping Charges
6.1 Shipping - Should the Buyer ship on the Company’s account, LCDs4Less.co.uk provides the following shipping methods: Standard Overnight Shipping (UK) and International Shipping (outside the UK). Overnight shipping will arrive the next day for most UK mainland destinations. Rates may vary based on destination and quantity of notebook screens ordered. Rates for UK locations not on the UK mainland may differ from UK mainland rates. Click here for shipping rates.
LCDs4Less.co.uk shipping cutoff time is 15:30 GMT.
6.2 Customs Fees, Tariffs and Other Duties - The Buyer is responsible for all customs fees, tariffs and other duties related to merchandise purchased from the Company or merchandise returned to the Company.
6.3 Please Note: Shipping Location - Please note that it is the responsibility of the Buyer to have products shipped to a location where someone will be available to accept the order (preferably workplace). In the event that someone is not available to accept the package, it is the responsibility of the buyer to either pick up the package from the carrier's depot or arrange for a second delivery attempt for an additional fee of £7.15.
6.4 Initial Charges - Shipping charge includes the cost of the initial delivery attempt. The Buyer is responsible for each subsequent delivery attempt.
7.0 Credit Card
7.1 Credit Card Purchases - The Buyer's credit card charge will be reflected as Notebook LCD on the Buyer's monthly credit card statement.
7.2 Credit Card Fraud - We take credit card fraud very seriously. For the protection of card holders and ourselves, orders that appear fraudulent may be held for manual review. If necessary, a representative will call you to verify the order. If we are unable to contact you within a reasonable period of time, the order may be canceled. Manual review may delay the shipment and delivery of your order. We reserve the right to cancel any order before it is shipped.
8.0 Completeness of Agreement
The following agreement represents the entire agreement between the Company and the Buyer for all transactions. No party is authorized to make changes without the express written consent of duly authorized officers of the Company. This agreement replaces all prior agreements, written or verbal between the Company and Buyer.
9.0 Definitions
As-is: Merchandise that is being sold in its current state.
Accidental Damage - Accidental Damage any damage caused by misuse or mishandling after the Transfer of Ownership to the Buyer.
Buyer: The party purchasing goods or services from the Company.
Cosmetic Defects: A physical imperfection which does not interfere with the operability of an item. Buyer must notify company via Email within five (5) calendar days of receipt of item purchased if item purchased has cosmetic defects.
Dead Pixels: A Dead Pixel is a defective sub-pixel and can be seen as a bright (white, red, green or blue) dot or a dark dot on a liquid crystal screen. The acceptable level of Dead Pixels for a Customary Order is two (2) and for a Premium Order is two (2). The Company’s Standard Warranty will replace a screen with three (3) or more Dead Pixels during the Standard Warranty Period respectively, for a Customary Order. The Company’s Standard Warranty will replace a screen with three (3) or more Dead Pixels during the Standard Warranty Period for a Premium Order.

DOA: A notebook screen that does not illuminate or display an image when the notebook screen purchased from the Company is first installed. Buyer must notify company via Email within five (5) calendar days of receipt of item purchased if item purchased is DOA.
Fair Market Value: The price at which the property would change hands between a willing buyer and a willing seller, neither being under any compulsion to buy or to sell and both having reasonable knowledge of relevant facts.
Lines: A screen defect whereby a LCD screen exhibits vertical or horizontal lines and is not due to a defect of the notebook itself.
Premature Backlight Outage: An Electronic Defect whereby the backlight of an LCD screen no longer emits light. A backlight outage is typically noted by a dim screen. A dim screen, however, may be due to other circumstances unrelated to the screen which would therefore not be covered by the Standard Warranty.
Secured Funds: Payment made by money order or bank certified check.
Video Failure: An Electronic Defect whereby the LCD screen does not render an image and is not caused by a defect in another component of the notebook.
